Από τα πρώτα χρόνια στην Γραβούνα οι κάτοικοι της ασχολήθηκαν με τον αθλητισμό και συγκεκριμένα με το ποδόσφαιρο,το 1974 ξεκινάει μια προσπάθεια η οποία ολοκληρώνεται το 1978 και δημιουργείται η «Θράκη Γραβούνας», μια ομάδα που μέχρι σήμερα την στηρίζουν όλοι οι κάτοικοί του χωριού και την έχουν δει πολλές φορές να πρωταγωνιστεί τοπικά και να φτάνει στην κορυφή.
